Testimony from Zimbabwe

“I am a Deacon at The Body of Christ Ministries International, Dzivarasekwa Assembly. My Pastor at Warren Park introduced a new way of spreading the word of God and made use of the youths to do the work. He grouped us into two groups and gave us the assignment to minister in some locations near town. My colleague Simbarashe and myself, were assigned to Marlborough as our constituency. We did the job of preaching in that area and Simba became the area deacon and I was his assistant. In 2007, Simbarashe went to Zambia and I was left alone in Marlborough. When Simbarashe was around, he was the one who used to do all the work including preaching, singing in praise and worship as well as doing counselling sessions. When Simba left, that is when I started experiencing difficulty carrying the burden alone. I then mobilized one of the guys called Panashe Wenyevhe who is now based in Mozambique, doing the work of God. We did what was expected to be right during that time and more people came to worship God.

In Dzivarasekwa where I stay, I started a new home group again which I was leading and I became a Deacon of the area. On another day I met this man called Pastor Mujiwa and he encouraged me to learn so that I be careful not to give false or poisonous teachings to the congregation. He liked the way I was doing ministry and he started helping and encouraging me to come to Nehemiah Bible Institute. I had no money to study but through Nehemiah sponsorship programme, I managed to enrol and I am enjoying the studies. They are so helpful especially for those in leadership like myself. I am a father of two children and together with my wife we are a happy family in the Lord. I am self-employed and it is difficult to make a living and put bread on the table. It was a good thing for me to have met Pastor Mujiwa and ever since that time everything is now going in a good direction. Nehemiah Bible Institute is good to me and I think I will remain a scholar in the things of God to learn more so that the church becomes stronger in Jesus Christ. I trust that God will continue helping me and my family to lead the people who are under our leadership to experience the love of God. I am applying what NBI taught me to impact my church and community.”
