Prison Ministry – Spiritual Care Workers

The Prison Ministry was established in 1980.  The first bible ministry course was created in 1971.

Over the years NBI-Biblecor have been involved with ± 228 prisons nationwide and send thousands of free courses annually to prisons throughout South Africa. There are currently 19 programs available for prisoners to obtain NBI certificates. The programs are free to prisoners and spiritual care workers.

The ministry also has a faithful support basis, namely Athletes for Christ (students of Stellenbosch University) who have supported the ministry since 1974. They raise funds to sponsor the ministry material by running more than 2000 km per year.

Prison ministry also provides a free pastoral care counselling via correspondence to prisoners.

We currently have 6 Life Skills based programs available for free downloading on our Missio platform for Spiritual Care Workers.
