LEARNING CENTRES & BIBLE SCHOOLS
NBI offers distance learning programs. 90% of our learners form part of learning groups meeting at learning centres all over South Africa. Several of these centres also call themselves Bible schools.
These learning groups function under the guidance of volunteer facilitators Although they use NBI learning guides, they remain independent and are responsible for their own administration and finances. No learning centre is under the control of NBI and therefore none of them is the legal responsibility of the NBI in any way. To ensure quality control, all assessments are marked at the NBI offices. Learners at all these learning centres still receive the UP certificates after the successful completion of the learning programs.
A learning centre is a dedicated area within a classroom or church where students can engage in independent and self-directed learning activities. It provides a space that is separate from the main classroom or church environment and is designed to offer easy access to a variety of learning materials in an engaging and productive manner.
A learning centre serves several functions:
- Gathering place: It provides a designated space for students to come together and engage in learning activities.
- Application and registration assistance: It helps students with the process of applying for and registering in educational programs or courses.
- Fee collection and order placement: It facilitates the collection of fees from students and manages the ordering of educational materials or resources.
- Program execution: The centre is responsible for running the educational program within the classroom or church environment.
- Student assessment: It assesses the students’ progress and submits their assessments to the NBI office for evaluation.
- Spiritual growth support: It assists students on their spiritual growth journey, providing guidance and support.
- Information dissemination: It informs students about the support services and resources available to them.
At NBI Learning Centres, facilitators play a crucial role in training church leaders. They are leaders who share the vision of NBI and have a desire to make a positive impact in the body of Christ. As they believe they are called by God to advance God’s kingdom, each facilitator has a circle of influence that reaches between 50 and 500 people in ministry. Being a facilitator is both rewarding and challenging, requiring hard work and dedication without monetary compensation.
NBI does not charge any fees to run a learning centre. However, it is your responsibility to manage and operate the learning centre, including providing your own venue.
If you feel inspired to establish a learning centre in your area, please head over to the “About” tab to find our contact information.
If you are interested in starting a group for potential church leaders, you can contact the NBI office for assistance with the registration process. The NBI has learning centres in many different areas that you can join. You can check with the office to see if there is one near your location. The NBI also encourages church leaders to create their own groups and source mentors for their students.
